Vauxhall Meriva MPV arrives in the UK
The new Vauxahll Meriva MPV goes on sale in the UK from this Summer.
The Vauxhall Meriva MPV will finally arrive in the UK this SUmmer, complete with innovative rear-hinged back doors.
Currently only used by the Mazda RX-8 and Rolls-Royce Phantom, the rear-hinged doors on the Vauxhall Meriva have been labelled as a ‘FlexDoor’ system.
Vauxhall claims the doors, which swing open towards the back of the car, allow easy access to the cabin and a ‘parent-friendly’ zone between the front and rear doors when they are both open.
Once the car is moving, the doors are automatically locked so they cannot open at high speeds.
The exterior design of the Vauxhall Meriva includes a ‘blade’ design similar to the Astra and Insignia.
Inside, the seats can be folded for extra storage space and a FlexRail system provides a number of storage spaces and cubby holes.
The engine line-up features six turbocharged units ranging from 75 to 140bhp. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been cut by 15 per cent on outgoing models and a low CO2 ecoFLEX model will also be introduced to the line-up.
