Vauxhall celebrates February sales
February was extremely strong for Vauxhall, which racked up an impressive 9,812 units according to data released by the Society of Motoring Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
This is up by 1,862 units from February 2010 - which also brings an increase of 2011’s market share from 11.57% in 2010 to 15.47%, a huge increase of 23.42 per cent.
Vauxhall’s 2011 registrations from January to the end of February is 25,123, a steady increase of 1,170 units from 2010’s 23,953 total. Again, 2011’s market share is up - from 11.18% to 13.07%.
Vauxhall’s key vehicles sold well in the February’s best-seller's table, with the Vauxhall Corsa selling 2,617 units, making it the second best seller of the month and the third best seller of the year to the end of February with 8,248 units.
The Vauxhall Astra sold 2,036 units in February, making it the fifth best seller of the month and the fifth best seller of the year to the end of February, with 6,546 units.
Other good results in February’s best sellers were the Vauxhall Insignia which made sixth position with 1,842 units; the Zafira at seventh position with 1,705 registrations; and the Meriva at tenth position with 1,367 registrations, rounding off a great month for the British manufacturer.
