The Seat Ibiza FR
The new Ibiza FR TDI signals SEATs intention to be the leader in the supermini hot hatch sector.
The first diesel versions of the Seat Ibiza FR have arrived on UK shores as the Spanish manufacturer continues its product offensive, spearheaded by the sporty hot hatch.
The Ibiza FR TDI is available in both sports coupe (SC) and five-door body styles and features the same redesigned bumper and sporty style featured on petrol versions.
From rest, the Ibiza FR TDI reaches 62mph in 8.2 seconds and achieves a top speed of 130mph.
The Euro V-compliant 143bhp turbocharged diesel, linked to a six-speed manual gearbox, is one of the most frugal in the Ibiza range.
Fuel economy of 62.7mpg and an official CO2 figure of 119g/km means lower running costs and road tax for Ibiza owners.
Standard specification in the Ibiza FR TDI includes climate control, ESP with Seat’s new XDS electronic ‘virtual’ limited slip differential and exclusive FR detailing inside and out.
SEAT UK’s Ibiza Product Manager, Andy McGregor, said: “The arrival of the Ibiza FR TDI signals our intention to make SEAT a leader in the supermini sector.
“The exceptional success of the Leon FR TDI – it’s the best-selling model in the entire Leon range – proves beyond doubt that we understand the needs of today’s hot hatch fans. The outstanding economy, and performance, offered by these new Ibiza FR TDI models means these cars, too, should power to the top of their class."
