The new Renault Wind roadster
The new Renault Wind compact coupe-roadster is set to rival the Fiat 500C and Peugeot 207CC.
The new Renault Wind roadster, recently seen at the Geneva Motor Show, is set to go on sale in the UK.
Unlike most drop-tops, the Wind’s metal roof pivots and tucks underneath the boot, allowing the same amount of storage space when the roof is folded as when it is up. The coupe-roadster’s electric roof opens in 12 seconds.
The Renault Wind will go up against rival compact coupe-roadster offerings such as the Fiat 500C and Peugeot 207 CC.
Marketed as being ‘nimble’ and ‘compact’, Renault has designed the 3.83m long Wind for city driving and, indeed, parking.
The two-seater Renault Wind is the latest in an updated open-top line-up recently enhanced by the new Megane coupe-cabriolet.
Engine details have not been released yet, but as the Wind is based on the Twingo platform, a 99bhp 1.2-litre TCE and 131bhp 1.6-litre already available in the Twingo could be available on release.
Renault has promised a more luxurious interior than the Twingo, but the French marque has not released prices for the roadster as yet.
