Strong post-scrappage sales for Peugeot
Peugeot registered strong sales in April 2010, despite the scrappage scheme ending in March.
While across-the-board April sales were 11.5 per cent up on April 2009, Peugeot registered a 21.6 per cent increase in sales during the month – almost doubling all UK car sales.
Peugeot also benefited from strong sales of its HDi diesel models, which were up by 53.4 per cent - while the new Peugeot 3008 and the Peugeot 5008 performed well in private and fleet sectors.
The French manufacturer posted a year-on-year sales increase of 29.4 per cent, while the overall market was up 23.9 per cent.
Peugeot says sales of its 107 city car, 207 supermini and 308 hatchback models, alongside the 3008 and 5008, have contributed to the sales success.
