Strong European sales for most manufacturers
European sales showed strong performance for a number of brands in February, with Renault, Ford, Fiat and Citroen all boosting sales.
Renault posted a 28 per cent increase in sales over February 2009, with sales of the Clio supermini increasing by 54 per cent.
Ford sold over 32,000 models during the month, with the Fiesta supermini increasing sales by almost 12 per cent.
The Fiat Punto, also in the small car class, posted an increase of 42 per cent, while Fiat improved sales across the board.
The Peugeot 207, Fiat Panda, Vauxhall Corsa, Renault Megane and Vauxhall Astra were all placed in the top ten cars sold in Europe in the month.
