Seat’s Exeo range goes automatic
Automatic versions of the Seat Exeo saloon and ST estate will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show tomorrow.
Designed for drivers ‘seeking an extra level of refinement’, the new variable multitronic gearbox delivers the classic automatic ease of use and enables the engine to operate consistently at optimum efficiency.
The new transmission offers drivers a choice of Sport mode, which results in gear shifts at higher revs, as well as a Manual mode that operates via ‘flappy paddle’ wheel mounted shift paddles.
Both saloon and estate Exeo models will be fitted with the 140bhp 2.0-litre TDI, which delivers over 48mpg on a combined cycle thanks in part to the broad ratio spread of the multitronic ‘box.
To complement the new transmission, Seat has made the Exeo ‘even more roomy and comfortable’ with revisions to the front seat back and rear bench designs. Room in the back has increased by 44 millimetres without sacrificing luggage space or comfort.
New rear lights featuring LED technology will also be offered alongside the current bi-xenon headlights in a bid to make the model ‘the most desirable in its class.’
Pricing and availability will be announced closer to the release date.
