Seat targets efficiency with revamped engine line-up
Seat has revised the line-up of engines in three of its most popular model ranges; the Ibiza, Leon and Altea.
The Seat Ibiza welcomes the new 102bhp 1.2-litre TSI unit, which replaces the 102bhp 1.6-litre engine and is available in SC, five-door and ST body styles.
While 0-62mph sprint is improved by half a second to 9.8 seconds, CO2 emissions are down 20 per cent to 119g/km and combined fuel economy is up 25 per cent to 55.4mpg.
“The arrival of the excellent new 1.2 TSI in the Ibiza shows that, when it comes to today’s engines, smaller really can be better," said Seat UK’s Ibiza, Leon and Altea Product Manager, Andy McGregor.
The other new addition, the 138bhp 2.0-litre TDI CR, is now available in Leon, Altea and Altea XL models, bringing with it much improved CO2 output and combined fuel economy of 125g/km and 58.9mpg in the former.
Altea and Altea XL models with this diesel engine both manage to 129g/km of CO2 emissions and 57.6mpg on a combined cycle.
Seat Ibiza, Leon and Altea models with the new engines are available now from £12,780, £18,570 and £18,770 respectively.
