Seat Exeo awarded four-star safety racing
The Seat Exeo has been awarded a four-star rating in the new, tougher Euro NCAP safety tests.
The Exeo executive saloon was tested for adult occupant, child occupant and pedestrian safety as part of the industry recognised method of rating a vehicle’s safety.
In 2010, the percentage needed to pass in each category was raised by up to 15 per cent in a review of the safety test system.
The Seat Exeo received 77 per cent in adult occupation protection, where the testers commended the car on the frontal impact and the side barrier test.
Child occupant protection was also above the 75 per cent threshold at 81 per cent, although pedestrian safety tests were slightly lower at 50 per cent, 5 per cent above the required level.
The Kia Venga and Nissan Cube both received four stars in the tests, whose results are published quarterly. The Toyota Verso was the only car to receive a maximum five-star rating, while the Citroen Nemo MPV fared the worst with a three star rating.
