Seat enhances the Leon FR range
Seat has expanded the range of the Leon with the introduction of the new FR+ model, plus the addition of new engines to the hothatch range.
The Leon FR range now comes with a 1.4 litre TSI manual petrol engine delivering 125hp, as well as a 2.0 litre TDI CR diesel unit in manual and with 140hp.
The new FR+ specification improves on the ‘standard’ FR model in terms of performance and equipment. The car is available with either a 2.0 litre TSI with 211hp or a 2.0 litre TDI CR with 170hp.
All equipment from the ‘standard’ trim is carried over to FR+ with even more added. New features include 18" ‘Ibera’ alloy wheels, DAB radio, Bluetooth, SD card slot, bi-xenon headlights, front parking sensors and a Seat media system, with satellite navigation and touch screen.
The Leon FR line-up already included twin chrome exhaust pipe, LED rear-light clusters, sport seats and steering wheel, rear parking sensors and automatic headlights.
While the extra equipment costs an estimate retail price of £2,465, the Recommended Retail Price (RRP) for the FR+ is increased by just £1,070 over the ‘standard model’.
Commenting on the range update, Seat UK’s Head of Marketing, Steve Robertson, said: ‘The Leon FR has been an important mainstay of the Seat line-up for some time, so it clearly makes sense to maximise its appeal’.
The Seat Leon FR range is now available in British showrooms from £18,205 RRP for the FR 1.4 TSI 125hp version. The price range goes up to £22,615 RRP for the Leon FR+ 2.0 TDI CR DSG-auto with 170hp.
