Renault plans 'Very Good Trip'

The first ever reality TV show filmed by a motoring manufacturer is set to be shown online as part of a Renault advertising campaign – but first the stars of the show need to be found.

The French marque will film ‘Very Good Trip’ to advertise the new Wind Coupe-Roadster and Megane Coupe Cabriolet, claiming the show will fill the gap left by Big Brother and X-Factor ending.

But first it is looking for a two man team from the UK to compete with seven other European countries in a series of challenges across Europe from 14 June to 9 July.

Renault TV crews will follow the teams and film the reality TV show as the 5,000 kilometre challenge progresses and the winning team will receive a free Megane CC and Wind roadster as well as the monetary equivalent of free fuel and insurance for a year.

There has been no indication as to what the challenges will entail, but Renault says they will be based around the idea of freedom and will ‘push contestants to the limit’.

A specially designed website will show the daily bulletins from the reality show, along with Facebook, Flick’r, Youtube and Twitter updates from contestants.

Renault has said it is looking for a wide variety of contestants who need not be ‘body-beautiful’. All expenses will be paid by Renault.

All entrants must upload a one minute video to the Renault website stating why they should be chosen, with the winners announced at the Cannes Film Festival on 21 May.
