Peugeot 5008 named Scottish MPV of the Year
Peugeot’s 5008 compact MPV has been named Scottish MPV of the Year by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), fending off tough competition from Ford and Mazda.
Key to the 5008’s success at the Scottish Car of the Year Awards, held at St. Andrews last week, is its ‘high quality interior, attractive design and unique features’ according to the judges.
The seven-seat layout features adjustable middle row seats that individually slide and recline, allowing for seemingly endless seating and storage possibilities. The MPV also boasts a head-up display of speed and distance alert.
The five-star Euro NCAP rated Peugeot 5008 is available in three trim levels; Active, Sport and Exclusive, with range-topping models featuring a Cielo panoramic glass roof as standard.
After winning Diesel Car Magazine’s Car of the Year as well as the coveted What Car? Green MPV of the Year, Peugeot’s Communications Director Andrew Didlick admits: “We are not entirely surprised [the 5008] has collected a boot-full of awards in its first year."
“This award is further demonstration of the progress and appeal of our new products and comes significantly in the brand’s 200th anniversary year."
The Peugeot 5008 is available now from £17,495.
