Peugeot 5008 dominates Diesel Car awards
The Peugeot 5008 has been awarded the prestigious Car of the Year 2010 award by Diesel Car magazine.
The 5008 also won the Best MPV award to add to the What Car? Car of the Year 2010 title it won early this year.
It was a triple celebration for the French manufacturer as the Peugeot RCZ won the inaugural Best Sports Car and the Peugeot 3008 was named Best Crossover.
Testers at the magazine drove 275 new cars before choosing the winners for ten categories including Best Eco Car, Best Small Car and Best Executive Car.
Ian Robertson, Editor of Diesel Car magazine, said he was ‘really pleased’ to name the Peugeot 5008 as the winner.
He added: “It truly is the right car for the right times, with competitive pricing, generous equipment levels, a good all-round driving experience that is all wrapped up in a package that seats seven. What more could a family buyer want from a car."
In the other categories, the Jaguar XF won Best Executive Car for the third year in a row and the Ford Fiesta retained the Best Small Car award.
Elsewhere, Land Rover’s Discovery 4, Freelander 2 and Range Rover finished first, second and third respectively in the Best 4x4 category.
