New Vauxhall Zafira Tourer prices announced
The new Vauxhall Zafira Tourer will start from £21,000 when it goes on sale in the UK, it has been confirmed.
The vast, seven-seat people carrier has been revealed by Vauxhall at the Frankfurt Motor Show this month before it arrives in UK showrooms from 2012.
Available in five trim levels, including entry-level ES, Exclusiv, SRi, SE and Elite specifications, the new Zafira Tourer is a completely new version of the popular MPV.
The exterior borrows its design from the Vauxhall Ampera extended-range electric car, in particular in the design of the boomerang-shaped headlamps at the front of the car.
The Vauxhall Zafira Tourer also features sculpted lines down the sides and a high roofline to increase head space in the back two rows of seating.
Inside, the new Zafira Tourer has been designed as 'a lounge on wheels' according to the manufacturer.
This means a selection of new upholstery options and more equipment than previous versions of the Zafira MPV. It also includes Vauxhall's Flex7 seating system, a name given to the versatile folding seats capable of being moved to several different configurations.
The £21,000, entry-level Zafira Tourer comes with air conditioning, cruise control and a sound system complete with DAB digital radio, MP3 compatibility and seven speakers as standard.
The new Zafira Tourer comes with a choice of 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-litre CDTi diesel engine in three different power levels. These are added to the range on top of the 1.8-litre in 110PS and 165PS configurations.
The least powerful of the diesel option delivers the lowest level of CO2 emissions ever seen on a Zafira at just 119g/km. This means the people carrier is even available for a year of free road tax in the UK.
The Vauxhall Zafira Tourer will go on sale in 2012 in the UK.
