New Citroen C4 images, details emerge
Citroen has released further details of the forthcoming C4 range, which is available to order in the UK from today.
The 2011 C4 was unveiled at this year’s Paris Motor Show and shares its underpinnings with its predecessor, despite being slightly longer, wider and taller.
The front end has been completely redesigned to ‘reflect the model’s aerodynamics’ according to Citroen, as does the new rear spoiler.
Models fitted with the entry-level 95bhp 1.4-litre VTi petrol engine will be priced from £15,995 but won’t be available at launch, meaning that the 90bhp 1.6-litre HDi unit will be the most affordable upon release at £16,995.
While the latter emits 110g/km of CO2, the 110bhp version of the 1.6-litre diesel manages 119g and the potent 150bhp 2.0-litre oil-burner produces 130g. Also available will be two 1.6-litre petrol engines – 120bhp VTi and 155bhp THP – which emit 143 and 148g/km respectively.
The title of the most efficient engine goes to the 110bhp 1.6-litre e-HDi, which boasts a fuel economy north of 67mpg and CO2 emissions of under 110g/km thanks to technologies such as Stop & Start.
Deliveries of the new Citroen C4 will commence on 11 January 2011.
