Land Rover celebrates strong sales in March
Land Rover UK celebrated its best ever month of sales in March 2010, with registrations of new Defender, Freelander, Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover SPort models up 67 per cent on the same month last year.
Land Rover sold over 11,300 vehicles in March 2010 - the highest sales for any month in the company's 62 year history.
March 2010 was the seventh consecutive month of improvement for Land Rover, which Land Rover UK MD Phil Popham puts down to a strong model range.
"The sales increase is mainly owed to the phenomenal response received from customers and media to the award winning 2010 model year Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery 4 and Freelander 2," said Popham.
"It is the most efficient and technologically advanced line-up of vehicles Land Rover has ever had, ensuring a continued demand for our brand."
Global retail sales also rose in March by more than 43 per cent in March, with particularly strong sales in developing markets such as China, Korea and Brazil.
