Kia teases POP ahead of Paris
Kia has released teaser images of the POP electric concept car ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show on 30 September.
Despite its small size, the POPs creative layout means it can seat up to three passengers comfortably; two upfront on a bench-inspired seat and one in the rear.
Although details are scarce, the images show that the POP has a glass roof similar to the Kia Ray concept that was revealed earlier in the year. It has been suggested that this could use solar cells to provide extra power, but the company hasn’t confirmed this.
Due to its all-electric technology, the Kia POP boasts zero tailpipe emissions. This technology is expected to be introduced across the company’s range by 2015 to meet EU emissions targets.
Kia says the POP ‘brings innovative design chic and dramatic styling to the city car segment’, though details regarding its production are yet to be revealed.
If it were to go on the market, it would overtake the Kia Picanto - which is priced from £7,195 - as the smallest and greenest car the Korean firm offers.
