Kia raises prices
Kia will increase the prices of some of its range by between three and four per cent from 1 April 2010.
Kia will also implement new road tax rates at the same time to minimise disruption and confusion.
Kia says the price increase has been kept to the minimum level possible that largely stem from differences in exchange rates. Kia imports all its model range.
The price increase will not affect new Sorento and Venga models or the new Soul model.
As a result of the government's new Vehicle Excise Duty Year One rate – the so-called showroom tax – some models are actually are reduced in price. Also many Picanto, Rio, Venga and cee’d models now have a zero VED rate for year one.
The changes mean that Kia’s UK range now starts with Picanto at £6,895 on-the-road, up from £6,635, and includes the cee’d 5-door at £12,595, up from £12,150, and Sportage at £15,995, up from £15,210.
