Jaguar XJ wins green award
The Jaguar XJ has triumphed in the Luxury Car category in this year’s What Car? Green Awards.
The What Car? judges revealed that there could only be one winner after describing the Jaguar XJ 3.0 Diesel V6 Luxury model as taking their ‘breath away’.
When fitted with the 3.0 litre AJ-V6D turbo diesel powertrain, the XJ delivers CO2 emissions of 184g/km and returns 40.1mpg on a combined cycle.
The Jaguar’s aluminium architecture uses around 50 per cent recycled material which saves three tonnes of CO2 per vehicle. There are plans to increase this number to 75 per cent in the near future.
Praising the low emissions in the XJ, as well as its ease of recyclability, What Car? editor-in-chief Steve Fowler concluded: “Look no further if you want a luxury car that’s as good for driver as it is for the environment."
The Jaguar XJ is available now and is priced from £53,900.
