Giulietta boost for Alfa sales
Alfa Romeo achieved the largest percentage sales increase in the UK for the month of March.
According to statistics from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the Italian manufacturer recorded a positive percentage change in its new car sales, an increase of 66.35%, higher compared to any other manufacturer for the month.
It has been a positive start to the year for Alfa Romeo, in the first few months; they are one of the top two manufacturers in regards percentage sales increase, up 60.4% to date when compared to 2010.
In the past couple of years, Alfa Romeo’s fortunes have been uplifted by the introduction of successful new models like the MiTo supermini and sporty hatchback Giulietta.
The Giulietta offers private and fleet buyers a comprehensive package, including five star Euro NCAP safety rating and award winning engine technology.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta, which succeeded the 147 range, is the company’s latest five door coupe model.
It comes with a range of five engines, three petrol and two diesels, all the engines are turbocharged, making the car the best in the range for emissions, acceleration and fuel consumption. The top of the range spec has a 1.7 litre turbocharged engine producing 232hp.
The Giulietta was named the best performing Small Family category car by Euro NCAP in 2010. It also came second in the European Car of the Year 2011 award. Pricing for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta currently start at £13,932 (excluding VAT).
