Ford ‘Shares the Moment’ with Eurovision 2010
Ford will be providing a fleet of 40 cars as the official vehicle supplier for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, which has its final this Saturday in Oslo, Norway.
The latest line-up of Fords will be exclusively carrying organisers, artists and celebrities and include the S-MAX SUV; Galaxy MPV; Mondeo saloon; Kuga 4x4; and Transit Buses. The entire fleet will consist of Fords painted either black or white and will wear the Eurovision logo ‘Share the Moment’.
The 2010 Eurovision Song Contest marks the competition’s 50th anniversary. Norway was victorious in 1985, the year the all-female group Bobbysocks were flying the Norwegian flag in Gothenburg. One half of the victorious duo, Hanne Krogh, pictured above with the fleet of vehicles provided by Ford, reflected on her experiences in the competition:
“When we won in 1985 Ford gave us invaluable help regarding transportation. Among other things, Ingvar Sviggum, who was managing director of Ford Norway then, made it possible for us to drive an Escort Cabriolet specially painted in the band’s deep pink colour."
One of the vehicles delivered to contest organisers, the 2.0-litre 203PS Ford S-MAX, is the latest available model released by Ford with an on-the-road price of £27,895.
