Ford grabs two ‘honest’ awards
Ford came away with two accolades at the inaugural ‘Honest’ awards hosted by motoring advice website Honest John.
The Ford C-Max and the Ford Mondeo were the lucky models as they were voted best people carrier and best large family car.
The ‘Honest’ awards are unlike the majority of motoring award ceremonies, as it’s the website users who decide on each of the nine winners and not the usual judging panel of experts and journalists.
The website collated the number of searches each vehicle received from visitors, covering a 12 month period starting from 1 April 2010 and lasting until 1 April 2011 and the model that gained the most searches in each segment claimed the award.
The websites founder, ‘Honest John’, commented on Ford's double success:
“Both the Ford Mondeo and Ford C-Max topped their categories in the Honest John Awards with good reason; they’re good to drive, well equipped, innovative and represent great value for money. As a result they’re two cars that really capture the imagination of our readers."
The Ford C-Max is a five-door MPV which boasts a maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP as well as a comprehensive list of features and equipment including a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) radio and Bluetooth and USB connectivity as standard.
Pricing for the Ford C-Max starts at £17,205, just £500 cheaper than Ford’s flagship saloon – the Mondeo – whose price starts from £17,705.
The Ford Mondeo’s recently refreshed range currently offers a 1.6 litre powertrain which delivers a fuel economy of up to 65.7mph.
