Five stars for new Ford C-MAX line-up
Ford’s new C-MAX and Grand C-MAX have just been awarded the coveted five-star safety rating by Euro NCAP.
The Ford C-MAX managed 92 per cent in the Adult Occupant category, 83 per cent for Child Occupant protection, 50 per cent for Pedestrian and 71 per cent in the Safety Assist category. The Grand C-MAX was awarded 96, 81, 50 and 71 per cent respectively.
“These are the first vehicles to be built on our new global C-car platform and for them to score so highly bodes well for future products including the all-new Focus which goes on sale next year," said Gunnar Herrmann, Ford’s global medium car vehicle line director.
Both the C-MAX and Grand C-MAX feature a generous selection of safety equipment as standard thanks to Ford’s Intelligent Protection System (IPS), which combines a high-strength body with state of the art restraint systems.
As a result, the MPVs gained the highest ever score for whiplash protection in the Euro NCAP tests.
The new Ford C-MAX and Grand C-MAX are priced from £16,745 and £18,745 respectively.
