Five-door Range Rover Evoque gets LA premiere
The five-door version of Range Rover’s Evoque will make its much anticipated debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.
Like its smaller stablemate, the five-door Evoque stays true to the LRX Concept from which it is derived. It therefore sports a typical Range Rover front end and a raked roofline that gives it a coupe-like profile.
It will be available in Pure, Prestige and Dynamic trim levels, with the latter featuring 20-inch wheels and a body kit to give it a more ‘assertive, confident stance’.
The updated 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine will be available in 147 and 187bhp guise, while the new 2.0-litre Si4 petrol unit outputs almost 240bhp. The modest 2.2-litre diesel achieves sub-135g/km CO2 emissions, while all engines ‘will deliver fuel efficiency which is outstanding for a premium SUV’.
“While retaining everything that’s great about the Range Rover Evoque coupe, this new five-door body style will offer customers even more choice, greater practicality, versatility and flexibility," says Land Rover’s managing director Phil Popham.
Pricing for the five-door Evoque, which will be built in Merseyside, is expected to start at around the £30,000 mark. It will be sold in more than 160 markets worldwide.
