First Peugeot 508 UK fleet delivered
Peugeot has sent its first fleet of the well-received 508 in the UK to accident management specialist Easi-Drive.
A mixed order of 38 models, comprising of 508 Saloons and SportWagons, were handed over to the Director of Easi-Drive, Dan Bellamy, in a presentation this week.
Easi-Drive supports motorists involved in road traffic accidents, by providing vehicles similar to their own.
The delivery allows the Manchester based company to offer its customers numerous models from Peugeot’s range. This includes the 207, the 308, the 5008 and the RCZ.
Both the Saloon and SportWagon estate variants of the Peugeot 508 are available with a range of petrol and diesel engines. One of the units is a 1.6 litre diesel mated to a six-speed EGC manual gearbox; this delivers 112bhp and emits just 109g/km of CO2.
The range-topping engine is a 2.2 litre diesel unit which produces 204bhp. The average fuel economy of the 508 is 64.2mpg.
There are five trim options for the 508, starting with the entry level Access kit. With this you get daytime running lights, electric windows, air conditioning, USB connection, radio/CD player and 16" inch wheels.
Now available in UK showrooms, the Peugeot 508 saloon has a starting on-the-road price of £18,150. The Sport Wagon (SW) is also available in showrooms starting from an on-the-road price of £19,176.
Peugeot predicts it will sell 6000 508 models in 2011, followed by 8000 more sales next year.
A hybrid based on the Peugeot 508, called the Peugeot 508 RXH, is expected to launch in spring 2012.
