Fiat reveals Euro 5 Panda range
The Fiat Panda is now more eco-friendly then ever before thanks to the introduction of Euro 5 engines across the hatchback’s range.
The Euro 5 engines means the car now complies with European regulations over CO2 emissions, making the car greener than ever.
The updated city car now comes in four specifications as part of the Euro 5 range. A higher top speed, better acceleration, improved fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions is achieved as a result of the new engine options.
The 1.2 litre Euro 5 engine replaces the previous entry-level unit for the Panda which was a 1.1 litre petrol unit. With the new engine the Panda has 69bhp which allows it to accelerate from 0-62mph in 13.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 101mph.
The unit also delivers a fuel economy of 57.6mpg on the combined cycle and emits just 113g/km of CO2.
For the highest spec version in the new Panda range, a 1.3 litre MultiJet diesel engine is fitted. This unit delivers slightly improved performance for the Panda all round, it will achieve 0-62mph acceleration in 13.1 seconds and a top speed of 103mph.
This engine also provides a fuel economy of 67.3mpg on the combined cycle and CO2 emissions are just 109g/km.
All Fiat Pandas are equipped as standard with power steering, electric front windows, body coloured bumpers and driver and passenger airbags.
The MyLife specification includes alloy wheels, remote central locking and a 12V power socket. The top trim level, Dynamic, offers body coloured mirror and handles, roof bars, air conditioning, MP3 player, fog lights and a split folding rear seat.
Pricing for the Euro 5 Fiat Panda range starts from £8,445 as standard for the 1.2 Active, although this model is currently available from just £6,645. The top specification 1.3 16v MultiJet dynamic version costs £12,285.
