The Fiat Panda Cross has been named best Junior Crossover at Total Off Road magazine’s 4x4 of the Year awards.

Total Off Road praised the Panda’s styling, handling, ease of controls and punchy 1.3-litre 16v MultiJet turbodiesel engine; deeming it the most worthy of the coveted accolade out of all 12 contenders.

“The Panda Cross has loads of style but plenty of substance too," said the awards’ judges. “It’s great fun in town, a rough diamond on B-roads and pretty acceptable on the motorway. And it can do remarkable things off road."

Launched in 2008, the Fiat Panda Cross has racked up numerous awards lauding its off-road ability, as well as its low CO2 emissions levels of 136g/km and combined fuel economy figure of over 54mpg.

“The Panda Cross is one of a long line of Pandas that have surprised and delighted customers for years," commented Elena Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group UK and Ireland.

“I am please that it is still collecting top honours – it certainly deserves them."

The Fiat Panda Cross is available now with on-the-road prices starting at £13,695.
