Customer demand prompts launch of Mazda2 Automatic
Mazda says it listened to customer demand when launching the 2 Automatic supermini, which is tipped to be popular among driving schools and Motability drivers.
The new five-door automatic – badged TS2 Automatic – is fitted with a 1.5-litre engine and four-speed automatic gearbox, emitting 146g/km of CO2 and returning 44.8mpg on a combined cycle.
It will be included in Mazda’s special driving school programme, which is expected to boost sales after research revealed that many newly qualified drivers go on to purchase either a new or second- hand car similar to the one in which they received driving lessons.
“Mark Cameron, Sales Director at Mazda UK commented: “The Mazda2 Automatic has been launched due to significant public demand. We expect it to become one of the best-selling Mazda2 derivatives, helped by demand Motability drivers and sales generated by our driving schools programme."
As standard, the Mazda2 Automatic gets 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, leather steering wheel with audio controls, two additional speakers, 60/40 split rear seats, electric mirrors and front windows and stability control.
The Mazda2 Automatic is available from £12,370 on-the-road.
