Citroen reveals stunning new DS5
Citroen unveiled the latest addition to its DS line-up, the DS5 five door hatchback model.
Based on the C-SportLounge concept car, the DS5 aims to express the full extent of Citroen’s ‘Créative Technologie’, by continuing the equipment-packed theme of the DS Line.
The sleek, compact body features four doors, a roomy boot (up to 465 litres storage space) and enough room for five real seats.
The dynamic exterior makes up of flowing lines, a sleek profile and muscular wheel arches, which wrap themselves around the large alloy wheels (available in 16" to 19"). Included is an oversized air intake, a large chrome finished grille and new LED light signature.
Within the interior is two central consoles, one low down and one above the driver’s head in a ‘pilot-style’ arrangement.
Complementing the interior is a series of premium materials and exclusive designs like fine-grain Club leather and ‘watchstrap’ seat upholstery, a unique trademark feature of the Citroen DS range.
The Citroen DS5 is the first Citroen model to feature HYbrid 4 diesel technology. The advanced system delivers 200hp, four wheel drive capability, emission-free electric power for city driving, and an acceleration boost function for the open road, with total CO2 emissions of just 99g/km.
At present there is no confirmation on when the DS5 will go on sale or any details on pricing. It shares the same engine technology as the upcoming Peugeot 3008 crossover.
