Citroen DS3 named Top Gear Car of the Year 2010
Top Gear has crowned the Citroen DS3 its Small Car of the Year as well as overall Car of the Year for 2010.
Released earlier this year, the DS3 is the first model in Citroen’s premium DS (Different Spirit) line-up, which is soon to be extended with the addition of the larger DS4.
“DS3 has pulled off that heady mix of ability, excitement and affordability that’s impossible to ignore. It walks so many fine lines so delicately and so comprehensively that it’s hard to find a chink in the armour," Top Gear said.
Being one of the most customisable cars on the road, the DS3 has done much to reinvent Citroen’s image. The halo-type car even appeared in Stuff Magazine’s ‘cool list’, becoming the only car this year to do so.
“Considering the fierce competition, it is a fantastic achievement for DS3 to win the top accolade," commented Linda Jackson, Citroen UK’s Managing Director.
The DS3 model range will be bolstered further in 2011 by the addition of the hot hatch Racing version and special edition DS3 by Orla Kiely Collection.
The Citroen DS3 is available now from £11,700.
