Following the recent changes to the London Congestion Charge, Citroen has announced that three of its cars will be completely exempt – saving London drivers around £2,500 per year.

From 4 January 2011, all Euro 5-compliant cars that emit 100g/km of CO2 or less – such as Citroen’s DS3 99g, C3 Airdream+ and C-Zero - will be able to enter the Congestion Charging zone free of charge.

Citroen’s DS3 99g and C3 Airdream+ models emit 99g/km of CO2 and both return 74.3mpg on a combined cycle. The forthcoming C-Zero full-electric city car will emit zero tailpipe emissions and will also be available for the Plug-In Car Grant, which will see the list price slashed by up to £5,000.

“We are delighted London drivers will benefit from Citroen’s low-CO2 conventionally powered and all-electric vehicles," commented Citroen UK Managing Director Linda Jackson.

“Our models are proof that environmentally conscious transport doesn’t mean compromising on style, comfort or driver pleasure."

The Citroen DS3 99g and C3 Airdream+ are priced at £13,800 and £14,790 respectively on the road.
