Chevrolet Malibu set for European debut
The all new Chevrolet Malibu will make its European debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The family saloon is set to go on sale in the UK this year and will become the American manufacturer's flagship model in the region, according to the brand.
Sporting Chevrolet's signature dual-port front grille, including LED dual-element tail lamps inspired by the famous Camaro, the Malibu follows a similar design philosophy to recently launched Chevrolet cars.
Customers can pick between 17" or 18" alloy wheels and choose from nine exterior colours as well as four interior colour combinations, depending on the specification selected.
Engines available for the Chevrolet Malibu include two petrol and diesel options with 2.0 litre and 2.4 litre displacements, delivering 164hp and 169hp respectively. Each engine can be used with either a manual or automatic transmission.
Over driver aids for the Malibu include anti-lock brakes (ABS), traction control, electronic stability control (ESC) and a brake assist system (BA).
Inside, the Malibu has numerous storage areas and gadgets, including a seven-inch touch screen radio display and a satellite navigation.
Higher specification models add Bluetooth wireless connectivity, which allows the use of phone applications hands-free.
The Chevrolet Malibu will be built at a number of factories across the globe, and should hit UK dealerships sometime in 2013.
Further specifications and details are expected to be revealed at Frankfurt.
