Chevrolet delivers Orlando to BEN charity
Chevrolet UK has pledged its support to automotive industry charity BEN by supplying the Southport site with a Chevrolet Orlando LT, the manufacturer’s current selling MPV.
The Orlando will be used at BEN’s care centre in Southport, under a six month loan. Here it will provide mobility for appointments, shopping and outings for local residents.
BEN is the UK’s only charity dedicated to those people who work or previously worked in the automotive industry and their relations.
The Managing Director of Chevrolet UK, Mark Terry, participated in the official handover of the Orland LT at BEN’s head office in Ascot. He said: “BEN is Chevrolet’s chosen industry charity and we are so pleased that we have been able to support them with a six month loan of an Orlando."
He added: “We were more than happy to lend a hand and support such a worthwhile charity, especially one that does so much for the automotive industry."
The Chevrolet Orland LT going to BEN comes equipped with a 2.0 litre VCDi diesel engine plus a set of standard specifications. The equipment provided includes 16-inch alloy wheels, multi-function steering wheel, USB connectivity and climate control.
Other provisions added are Electronic Stability Control (ESC), six airbags and remote central locking.
The MPV also comes with two innovative features. One of these is a supplementary rear-view mirror which allows both driver and passenger to see all the vehicle’s occupants. The other innovation is a hidden compartment set behind the stereo facia which can be used to hide expensive gadgets for example.
The Chevrolet Orlando LT is still available in showrooms, with pricing starting from £17,410.
