Chevrolet Cruze hatchback to star at Paris
Chevrolet will unveil a hatchback version of the Cruze at the Paris Motor Show this month, and believes it will help ‘bring value for money to all mainstream segments in Europe’.
The Cruze hatchback is one of four Chevrolet cars making their world premiere at the Paris Motor Show.
Since its launch in 2009, the Cruze saloon – along with its five-star Euro NCAP rating – has been a hit across Europe, regularly topping the compact saloon car sales chart in Spain, Germany, Italy and the UK.
The new Cruze hatchback will benefit from the same taut body feel on the road as the saloon, according to the company, and will also feature a circa-400-litre boot. Further details are currently under wraps however.
“Hatchbacks play a critical role in many markets", explains President and Managing Director Wayne Brannon.
“We therefore expect to see increased business in a number of regions, while sending out a signal that Chevrolet is now a serious mainstream player in Europe."
Prices have not yet been revealed for the Chevrolet Cruze five-door hatchback, but sales will commence across Europe mid 2011. The outgoing four-door Cruze is priced from £13,395.
