Automatic Alfa Romeo Mito supermini launched
Alfa Romeo has debuted its ALFA TCT double-clutch transmission in a new automatic version of the Mito supermini.
The dual-clutch transmission, which can operate automatically or as a manual sequential gearbox, manages to reduce the supermini’s already-impressive eco credentials, thanks in part to the inclusion of a Start&Stop system.
Mated to the 135bhp 1.4-litre TB MultiAir powertrain, the ALFA TCT drives the Mito’s CO2 output down to 128g/km, while combined fuel economy is up to 51.4mpg. This compares to the 129g/km and 50.4mpg with the manual gearbox respectively.
Despite its improved green performance, the automatic Mito is also faster to 62mph from standing, completing the sprint in 8.2 seconds; 0.2 seconds quicker than its manual counterpart.
The Alfa Romeo Mito 1.4 TB MultiAir with ALFA TCT transmission is available in Lusso and Veloce trim levels only, with on-the-road prices starting from £16,745.
