Alfa Romeo Giulietta gains a safe five stars
Alfa Romeos latest offering, the Giulietta, has been awarded a five-star safety rating from EuroNCAP – making it one of the safest hatchbacks in Europe.
Despite the safety test being made much harder last year, the Giulietta scored a very convincing 97% in adult occupant safety - the highest score since last year’s revision.
The Giulietta also scored 83% in the new ‘safety assist’ category, something Alfa Romeo have thanked their ‘DNA system’ for. The DNA system monitors and adjusts the steering, brakes, and response and torque from the engine, ensuring the car is always working at full potential.
Other high scores of 85% in child occupant safety and 63% in pedestrian safety see the Giulietta overtake many rival cars and cars in much higher price brackets.
The car, which was designed with a five-star safety rating in its sights, comes with ESC and seatbelt reminders as standard.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta is scheduled for a June 2010 release with prices starting at £17,000.
