Chevrolet has revealed the all-new Aveo will go on sale in Europe in 2011, along with four more new Chevrolet models.
The American manufacturer will be celebrating its centenary year in 2011 with the release of the new Chevrolet Aveo into the European small car market.
An early version of the next-generation Aveo was presented as an Aveo RS show car at the North American International Auto Show in January 2010.
The show car was longer and wider than the current Aveo model and featured a dynamic hot hatch look. The supermini show car was powered by a 138bhp 1.4-litre Ecotec turbocharged engine complemented by a six-speed manual transmission.
The Aveo will be the third model in the new Chevrolet line-up after the Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Spark were released in 2009 and 2010 respectively.
Chevrolet has also revealed plans to introduce a new family vehicle, based on the Orlando show car, a new-look Chevrolet Camaro in coupe and convertible versions and two more models for the European market in 2011.
Meanwhile, prices for the Aveo will be announced closer to the 2011 European launch.
