Seat breaks records with June sales
Seat has enjoyed a successful June, after the Spanish manufacturer notched up record car sales in the month, the second quarter of 2011 and the year to date.
Statistics from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that Seat sold 3,072 units in June a large increase from 2,325 sales achieved in the same month last year, it is also an all time record for the month.
The company also took a 1.68% share in the UK market for the month; this is up from 1.19% held in June 2010.
Seat’s share of the market in the second quarter of 2011 stands at 1.70% again an all-time record for the company.
The market share it holds for the whole year to date is at 1.8%, another all-time best. At this point last year Seat recorded a 1.56% market share for the year plus total car sales were at 17,317. So far in the whole of 2011, the manufacturer has sold 18,500 cars.
The best selling model in the Seat line-up this year is the Ibiza range, which comes available in three bodystyles; SC, five-door and ST (estate).
The Seat Ibiza alone has raked in more than 10,000 buyers into UK showrooms in 2011.
The second best seller in Seat’s line-up is the Leon five-door hatchback, with over 5,000 sales. The Exeo saloon and estate is the third best seller for the manufacturer, while the Altea is fourth.
