Renault launches Megane GT models
Renault’s Sport Technologies division has revealed sporting GT and GT Line versions of the new Megane.
The Renaultsports-inspired models will be available for the Hatchback, Coupe, Sport Tourer and Coupe-Cabriolet lines from June.
Designed under Renault’s ‘Drive the Change’ brand signature, both versions update the Megane line with restyled exterior and interior features including Renaultsport front seats, redesigned front and rear bumpers and GT badging.
The Hatchback and Sport Tourer GT and GT Line models boast a sport chassis and all versions are available with a range of new engines.
The GT Line adds GT Line badging, 17" ‘Celsium’ wheels and coloured door mirror housings. The GT version adds GT and RS badging, and leather-trimmed steering wheel taken from the Megane Renaultsport 250.
GT line models are already available for the Twingo, Clio and Laguna models, with European sales hitting accounting for 10,000 cars. The GT range is particularly popular in the UK, the brand’s largest market outside France.
The Renault Megane GT and GT Line will be available to buy in the UK in June 2010.
