Peugeot believes its 3008 crossover is the perfect solution to beating this winter’s big freeze thanks to its innovative Grip Control feature.

Grip Control pairs an intelligent traction control system and special Mud & Snow tyres, automatically improving the 3008’s traction on problematic surfaces such as snow, mud, dirt tracks and wet grass.

Grip Control works with the car’s ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) to maintain the best possible traction from the front wheels, and has five selectable operating modes that are controlled via a dedicated control on the dashboard.

The driver can choose from Standard, Snow, All-terrain and Sand modes, all of which adjust the ESP accordingly. There’s also an ESP Off option, which disconnects ESP and Grip Control up to speeds of 31mph. They will automatically turn on at speeds above 31mph however.

From January next year, the 3008 can be had with the new Euro 5-compliant 112 HDi diesel unit, which breaks the 130g/km of CO2 threshold and takes into VED Band D.

The Peugeot 3008 crossover is available now from £16,695. While Grip Control is a standard feature on SR models, it is a £470 option on Sport and Exclusive versions.
