Though Vauxhall hasn’t been keen on discussing a revised VXR8, the Holden HSV GTS E2 making an appearance at Goodwood next month could be a sign of things to come.

Showcasing the new Holden HSV GTS E2 - Australia’s answer to the VXR8 – at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the clearest indication yet that a revised VXR8 is in the works.

The recently revised Australian super-saloon has benefited from a number of styling modifications as well as being loaded with extra equipment.

Vauxhall has revealed that the VXR8 is ‘provisionally planned for launch in the near future’; though an actual release date hasn’t been confirmed.

The upgraded VXR8 is expected to boast around 400bhp from a 6.2-litre V8 engine which will deliver a 0-62mph time of less than five seconds.

The Holden will appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 2-4 alongside the 100-year-old Vauxhall Prince Henry and the Ampera E-REV.

Vauxhall’s high performance division has also offered VXR versions of the Astra, Corsa, Insignia and Zafira.
