Mazda releases special editions
Today, Mazda releases new Takuya and Miyako special edition models across its range.
The top line Mazda MX-5 Miyako boasts the world’s fastest folding roof – 12 seconds up or down – and is generously equipped with Medici leather trim, exclusive badging, climate control and 17 inch alloy wheels.
The most powerful 155bhp engine can complete a 0-62mph time in 7.9 seconds, with the entry level 125bhp powerplant delivering a time of 9.9 seconds. Combined fuel economy stands at 38.2/40.4mpg and 177/167g/km.
New Takuya models incorporate the Mazda2, Mazda3 and Mazda6 ranges and are as well kitted as the MX-5.
The Mazda2 and 3 benefit from a new powertrain each – 1.3 litre 75bhp and 1.6 litre 100bhp. On a combined cycle these powertrains can deliver 54.3/44.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 125/149gkm.
The Mazda6 family car offers two new engines however - 2.0 litre petrol and 2.2 litre diesel - which offer up to 160bhp and emissions as low as 159g/km. Combined fuel economy ranges from 40.9 and 52.3g/km.
Prices for the Miyako start at £18,385, with Mazda2, 3 and 6 Takuya models from £11,915, £15,780 and £19,845 respectively.
