Ford reveals Focus ST ahead of Paris debut
Ford has released first images and details of the new Focus ST, which will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show on 30 September.
Following in the footsteps of its popular predecessor, the flagship hatchback offers ‘an intoxicating cocktail of exhilarating performance and handling accompanied by an addictive sound.’ This is thanks in part to the 2.0-litre EcoBoost powerplant, which outputs almost 250bhp – around 28 more than the outgoing model.
Finished in Tangerine Scream, this full production ST flaunts a gaping front grille, deep air intakes, side skirts, rear spoiler and deep creases around the rear. Inside, leather upholstery, sports seats and body-coloured stitching all make an appearance, but Ford isn’t saying much else at this point in time.
“The global debut of the high-performance ST model makes this Paris show not only very exciting for Ford, but also highly significant," commented Chairman and CEO, Ford of Europe Stephen Odell.
The Paris unveiling has been described as an ‘early preview’ of the Ford Focus ST and as such, it will not go on sale until 2012. Pricing has therefore not yet been revealed.
