Ford Focus RS500 details announced
The first pictures of the high-performance Ford Focus RS500 have been released today ahead of its world premiere on 9 April.
Only 500 of the powerful special addition will be made to celebrate production of the Focus RS model ending in September.
The RS500 features the same 2.5-litre engine as the standard Ford Focus RS but has been enhanced to supply 15 per cent more power and an increased top speed of 165mph.
Available in black matte finish with RS badges and a twin-rear spoiler, the RS500 comes with climate control, heated windscreen, rear parking sensors, rain sensing wipers and auto dimming rear view mirror as standard.
Both the exterior and interior have been redesigned to fit the Rally Sport style of the RS line, including a larger exhaust, sports seats and a sports chassis.
Speaking about the RS500, Ford’s European Vice President of Product Development Joe Bakaj said: ““From its stunning looks to its intoxicating performance, we have no doubt that the RS500 will be appreciated and quickly snapped up by performance car enthusiasts."
The front-wheel drive hot-hatch will be officially unveiled at the Leipzig Motor Show in April.
