Citroen reveals special edition Blackcherry C3 Picasso
Citroen has announced a special edition C3 Picasso model, Blackcherry, which heralds the introduction of specification and engine upgrades to the existing MPV range.
The Blackcherry C3 Picasso is fitted with the most frugal engine in the range, the 90bhp 1.6-litre HDi diesel, which emits 119g/km of CO2 and returns over 61mpg on a combined cycle.
It is based on the VTR+ C3 Picasso and, as such, come with air conditioning, front electric windows, Citroen’s Connecting Box and cruise control as standard. It arrives on 17-inch diamond-tipped alloy wheels that are finished in cherry red to complement the red detailing on the premium black metallic exterior.
Thanks to the introduction of the new 110bhp 1.6-litre HDi engine – which emits 125g/km of CO2 and delivers 58.8mpg on a combined cycle – the whole of the Picasso’s powertrain line-up is now compliant with Euro-5 regulations.
All models will also come with Michelin Energy Saver tyres as standard to further reduce emissions, which means that specifying 17-inch wheels will no longer have any effect on CO2 output.
The updated Citroen C3 Picasso range is available from £12,695 and these upgrades are effective from 1 November. The Blackcherry edition is priced at £15,195.
