Citroen reveals new C4 Aircross
Citroen has revealed the first images of the new C4 Aircross on its Facebook page.
The Citroen C4 Aircross is based on the Citroen C4 hatchback but looks more like a compact SUV in its design.
The Citroen C4 Aircross uses the same front end as the likes of the Citroen DS4, the upmarket take on the C4 launched earlier in the year.
This means the chrome-coloured badge extends across the front of the car where it is flanked by new headlamps.
LED running lights stretch downwards and the rectangular grille has been tweaked to fit the SUV-like chunky front end.
While the Citroen DS4 raises the height of the car the Citroen C4 Aircross goes a step further by lifting the car even higher to create something in line with a compact SUV.
The car features chunky wheel arches and sculpted flanks, The roofline slopes slightly towards the rear and a panoramic windscreen and extended rear windows mean the inside should be airier than the C4.
The car also features silver-effect roof rails and a hatchback-shaped rear end. The concept, revealed in a series of images on Facebook, also includes eye-catching alloy wheels.
Using the Aircross name, a title used for previous concept cars and a C3 Aircross sold in the Brazilian market, the Citroen C4 Aircross is expected to be sold in the UK in the future.
Citroen has not had an SUV in its line up since the large Citroen C-Crosser was introduced in the UK and the C4 Aircross is expected to go up against the likes of the Nissan Qashqai and Mazda CX-5.
Prices and specification details for the new Citroen C4 Aircross have not been announced by Citroen.
